Your perfect day in the Gärten der Welt as an Explorer

Do you get impatient if you spend more than a few hours lying by the pool or on the beach on holiday? Do you want to see new, unusual things in your free time and turn your excursions into experiences? Then this list is for you:

1. Garden cultures in snack format

From South Africa to Chile to Thailand in just a few minutes: you can only do this in the Gärten der Welt. Nine unique garden cabinets act as gateways to other worlds. Discover wild meadows and mirror installations, flowers and concrete, designed by the world's leading landscape architects.

2. Visit the mysterious Moai

The world-famous Moai stone giants are at home on Easter Island and are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. An approximately 3.80 metre tall replica stands next to the Chilean Garden Cabinet. Join us in puzzling over what the sculpture could mean - researchers are still not in agreement.

3. Dive into the water gardens

No gardens without water: that's why we have dedicated an entire promenade to this element. Admire the pond, listen to the waterfall and the spring, let yourself be enveloped by the fine mist. In summer, this is one of the most refreshing places in the whole park.

4. Hear, hear!

This guided tour fits in your pocket: with one of our audio walks, you can stroll through the Gärten der Welt on your own and learn interesting facts about our themed gardens and the flora in the park. You can do this conveniently using your smartphone or devices that you can borrow from the visitor centre.

5. Sharp strengthening

Time for a break: authentic Chinese cuisine can be found in the Tsingtao Pavilion in the Chinese Garden. The characteristic red building with the curved roof is located next to the lake, between trees and meadows. There you can enjoy fried noodles and cool off with a Tsingtao beer or lemonade.

6. Spend the golden hour above the clouds

The sun goes down, you go up: take the Grün Berlin cable car to the Wolkenhain in Kienbergpark in the late afternoon. 120 metres above sea level, you'll experience a spectacular sunset and see the sun disappear behind the TV tower in the distance. Unique!
