Your perfect day in the Gärten der Welt as a family
‘Mum, Dad, are we there at last?’ - you're guaranteed not to hear such whining on the way to us. As soon as you leave the U5 station ‘Kienberg - Gärten der Welt’, you board the cable car and float into the park with a panoramic view. On the way, you'll see the Wuhletal, the environmental education centre at the Wuhleteich, the Wolkenhain and much more. A unique start to the day!
1. Explore the GdW on your own on a rally
Once you've landed, it's time for your first exploratory trip, for example with the children's rally across the park. Take a close look at the ornaments in the Oriental-Islamic Garden or learn which plant in the Balinese Garden can be used to make a delicious spice.

2. Let off steam on the playgrounds
The action continues on our play landscapes with the characteristic wooden horses. They are taken from Erich Kästner's classic children's book ‘The 35th of May’ and invite you to slide, climb, swing and balance. Getting warm after all that frolicking? Off to the water playground!

3. Find your way out of the maze
Right here! Or did we have to go that way? In our maze, visitors big and small alike end up at a dead end. If you make it to the tower in the centre, you'll be rewarded with a great view over the park. Do you prefer to solve puzzles without getting lost? Then the labyrinth next door is for you.

4. Eat ice cream
What would a family outing be without ice cream? You can cool off your body and soul at the café next to the Japanese Garden, for example, happy (and smudged) children's faces included. You can also enjoy coffee and cake on the shady terrace.

5. Let yourself be enchanted
Meadows, trees, birdsong, and suddenly ... the Frog King? You can discover your favourite fairy-tale characters in the grove behind the Karl Foerster perennial garden. The perfect place for storytelling. If you're lucky, you might even see squirrels scurrying from tree to tree.

6. Ride the natural bobsleigh run
A fast-paced highlight awaits you at the end: leave the Gärten der Welt by cable car, get off at the mountain station at Wolkenhain and swap your cabin for a bobsleigh. On the newly opened natural bobsleigh run, you can hurtle down the Kienberg at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Look forward to fast curves and steep descents in the countryside - a trip couldn't end any better!
