Weddings

Saying “I do” in a Chinese or Oriental-Islamic garden without having to travel halfway around the world - that’s also possible at the Gärten der Welt! If you’re looking for an atmosphere that’s a world away from a mundane registry office for your wedding, then you're in the right place. Since 2003, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf registry office has run a branch office in the stone boat of the Chinese Garden.

Marriage in the "Stone Boat"

The stone boat of the Chinese Garden is inspired by the marble ship Shi Fang, which lies in front of the famous Summer Palace of Beijing. It can accommodate up to 30 people. The symbolism of the Chinese Garden also corresponds perfectly with the romantic promise of a wedding: the various design elements of the garden symbolize unity, happiness and harmony.

Marriage in the Oriental-Islamic Garden

And since 2013, there is also the opportunity to be married during winter in the “Reception Hall” of the Oriental-Islamic Garden. The building’s simple exterior belies a spacious interior which has been decorated with elaborate mosaics. On sunny days, the light from the glass dome breaks through the pillars and draws alternating patterns on the marble floors. The hall can accommodate 50 people.
