Accessibility

Gärten der Welt are barrier-free and accessible with wheelchairs and pushchairs via the entrances "Blumberger Damm" (main entrance) and "Eisenacher Straße" (north entrance).

Accessibility also applies to the theme gardens and garden cabinets. There are also several accessible toilets in the Gärten der Welt.

Rent a wheelchair

You can rent a wheelchair at the entrance "Blumberger Damm" (main entrance). As there is only a limited number of wheelchairs available, we kindly ask you to contact us latest one day before your visit.

Loop path "Accessible trip around the world"

The loop path marked on the back is recommended for people who wish to explore Gärten der Welt in a wheelchair. Other themed gardens and garden cabinets are fully accessible by wheelchair, including the Jewish Garden. The Japanese Garden and the Korean Garden are only accessible in certain areas. There are many park benches along the circular route where you can take a break. Further information can be found on the site map.

Entrance fees and discounts

With the European Disability Card or a degree of disability of 50 or more on your disability card, you are entitled to a reduced admission ticket. With the designation ‘B’, an accompanying person receives free admission at the ticket office.

Accessible playgrounds

Our two playgrounds are for children of different ages. The water playground is partly accessible by wheelchair. The playground next to the Japanese Garden offers big wooden platforms in the shape of giant leaves wheelchair users can access.

Cable car

The cable car is wheelchair accessible. The cable car staff will help you get on and off. Please note that the cable car has different opening hours and may be closed at short notice for safety reasons in the event of strong winds or severe weather. Further information can be found here.
